Olivia Riggins

Olivia Riggins is an educator, poet, and choreographer who goes by the stage moniker, Origins. She currently teaches modern and jazz dance at Austin-East Magnet High School in Knoxville, TN. She also choreographs for the award-winning BOSS Dance Company of the Univerisity of Tennessee.

Since beginning to write poetry in 2014, Olivia has represented the Knoxville slam team at the Southern Fried Regional Poetry Slam. She has also been a collaborative of the 5th Woman Poetry Fellowship (2015 and 2017) as well an instructor and co-host for Knox Generation, a spoken word poetry initiative for high school students.

 In her writing, she is committed to honesty, the empowerment of the underdog and the finding of joy in midst of pain.
